Effective August 26, 2026.
Tamarack Dental respects the privacy of everyone who visits tamarackdental.ca, contacts us online, or responds to one of our ads. This policy explains what personal information we collect through those channels, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can see it or correct it.
It covers information collected through this website, our online forms, and forms attached to our advertising on platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. The clinical information in your dental record is handled separately, under the privacy rules that apply to dental practices in Alberta and our own records policies. Ask at the front desk if you would like details about your dental record.
Information we collect
You give us:
- your name, phone number, and email address
- the reason for your inquiry and anything you write in a message to us
- appointment and scheduling preferences
- whatever you enter in a form attached to one of our ads, such as an Instagram or Facebook lead form
We collect automatically when you visit the website:
- your IP address, browser, device type, and operating system
- the pages you view, the links you click, and how long you stay
- the site, search, or ad that sent you to us
- information stored in cookies and similar technologies
We do not ask for health information through website or ad forms, and we ask you not to send clinical details that way. Email and web forms travel over the public internet and are not a secure channel for health information.
Why we collect it
- to answer your question and get back to you
- to book, confirm, change, or remind you about an appointment or a consultation
- to provide dental care and administer your account with us
- to see how the website and our ads are performing, so we can improve them
- to send you information about our services where you have agreed to receive it, which you can stop at any time
- to meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not hand it to anyone else for their own marketing. The only parties who receive it are the ones listed below, for the reasons listed below.
Consent
We collect, use, and disclose your personal information with your consent, except where the law allows or requires us to act without it. Submitting a form or asking us to contact you is your consent for us to use that information to respond to you.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer below. Withdrawal is subject to legal limits and to the record-keeping rules that apply to a dental practice, and it may mean we can no longer provide a service you asked for. Unsubscribing from our emails stops the emails; it is not by itself a withdrawal of consent for everything else.
Who we share it with
- Service providers who work for us, including our website host, our appointment and practice-management systems, our email provider, and our marketing agency. They may use your information only for the work we hired them to do.
- Advertising and analytics platforms, as described in the next section.
- Anyone you direct us to, such as an insurer for a claim you asked us to submit, or another dental or health provider involved in your care.
- Anyone the law requires or permits us to tell, such as a regulator or a court order.
Advertising, analytics, and cookies
We advertise on platforms including Google, Facebook, and Instagram, and we measure the results.
- This website uses cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences and count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may stop working properly if you do.
- We use analytics and advertising tools that may include Google Analytics, Google Ads, and the Meta pixel. They collect the automatic information listed above, and they may use it to show you our ads on other sites and apps.
- When you fill in a lead form inside Facebook or Instagram, the platform collects your answers and passes them to us. The platform’s own privacy policy also applies to that information.
- You can change ad personalization in your Google account settings and in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
Information stored outside Canada
Some of our service providers, including the advertising and analytics platforms above, store and process information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. While information is in another country it is subject to that country’s laws and may be accessible to its courts and government authorities. Our Privacy Officer can answer questions about how we handle information stored outside Canada.
How we protect it
We use physical, organizational, and technical safeguards suited to how sensitive the information is: restricted access, secure storage, and encrypted connections on this website. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send us anything sensitive by email or web form.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, or as long as the law and professional standards require us to. Dental records are kept for the period set by the rules that apply to dental practices in Alberta. Information from an inquiry that does not become a patient relationship is deleted or made anonymous once we no longer need it.
Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, how we have used it, and who we have shared it with. Write to our Privacy Officer below and we will respond within the time the law allows. A few narrow exceptions let us withhold access; if one applies we will tell you which. If anything we hold is wrong or incomplete, tell us and we will correct it.
